Use Sunscreen

Before you go out make sure to use a proper sunscreen with high amount of SPF. We suggest Umbrella Sunscreen 75 along with Umbrella Sunscreen powder 50 for best protection for the whole day. Go for a sweat proof & heat proof sunscreen formula, so that it does not melt or come off easily. Apply the sunscreen not only on your face but also to your neck, hands & any other bare parts of the body.

Lather on Moisturizer

It is always a good idea to have some good moisturizer lathered on your skin before playing holi. Moisturizers create a protective barrier on the skin & prevents the drying effects of the harsh holi colors, making it easier to get rid of the colors once you are done playing. Applying a lightweight, non-sticky body oil all over your body before playing holi is also a good trick to make sure that colors are removed easily from your skin even if you get drenched in colored water. We recommend Skin Defence Orange Oil

Wear covering clothes

Last but not the least, always wear full sleeve, covering clothes before going to get all those colors on, a physical barrier can give your skin the best protection.

Pre-Holi care for your hair

No matter what your favorite actress did in her last holi song, if you love your hair, you should have your hair tied while playing holi. Wearing a Holi special cap or bandana is also great as it will save your hair while giving you a cool look. Applying a leave in serum to your locks before going out to play holi is a must. We recommend Keratin Care Hair Serum. It will give your hair a layer of protection from the harsh colors & the damaging effects of the sun rays.

Pre-Holi care for your nails

If you do not want to attend college or office with Holi-stained nails it is best to apply multiple coats of transparent varnish on your nails before going out to play holi.

Post Holi care for your skin

First dust & then wash off the loose colors from your face with plenty of plain water. Instead of soap, use cleansing milk & you will see the colors coming off much easily.  Once the colors are removed follow with a proper moisturizer to banish any dryness.

For your body, first dust off the excess colors & if you have not applied oil on your body before going to play, apply it now. Apply the oil all over your body & leave on for 10 minutes before washing off with a mild body wash or herbal soap. You can also use a body scrub instead of the soap to remove the colors & the oil. Do not rub or scrub your skin roughly at any stage.

Post Holi care for your hair

Once you are back home after playing Holi, first dust off the excess colors from your hair. Then wash with plenty of plain water & use a mild hair cleanser, like the Spa Intense Repair Shampoo to get rid of the colors.

If your hair have turned dry, blend 3-4 drops of rosemary or lavender essential oil with around 20 drops of jojoba or coconut oil & apply it onto your hair & scalp thoroughly. Soak a towel in hot water, squeeze out the excess water & then cover your head with it like a turban & leave on till it gets back to room temperature. Re-apply the hot turban for 3-4 times & then leave on for an hour before washing off your hair with a mild shampoo.

You can also use Keya Seth Hair Spa post Holi to banish any dryness caused by the Holi colors.

Happy Holi!
