The Founder
A Journey That Began With a Dream to Help People
Keya Seth grew up in Kolkata as a curious, driven child — a national-level swimmer, a painter, a photographer who exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts. She was never someone who did things halfway.
In 1996, as a young mother of two, she opened a small beauty parlour — Priyodarshini — in a 150 sq ft room at Paikpara. It was modest in size but enormous in ambition. She wanted to help people feel genuinely beautiful, not just temporarily polished.
Her turning point came through international aromatherapy seminars, where she encountered the science of essential oils — the concentrated 'soul molecules' of aromatic plants. She was captivated. She enrolled in advanced aromatherapy courses at top universities abroad, returning to India with both knowledge and a mission.
From her treatment chambers in Bhawanipur and Gariahat, she began formulating personalised aromatherapy potions for her patients. The results were remarkable. The queues outside her door grew longer every week. It became clear: these formulations needed to reach far more people than a single clinic ever could.
Our Philosophy
Aromatherapy Rooted in Ayurvedic Wisdom
India has always known the power of aromatic plants. The Ramayana speaks of the Sanjivani Booti — its aroma used to revive the gravely injured Lakshmana. Ancient Ayurvedic texts document the therapeutic use of plant essences for skin, hair, and holistic healing thousands of years before modern cosmetics existed.
Keya Seth Aromatherapy draws from this deep tradition while applying contemporary formulation science. Essential oils are 50–70 times more potent than the herbs from which they are extracted. Their small molecular size allows rapid absorption — reaching every cell within minutes of application. When inhaled, they travel directly to the brain's olfactory centre, triggering responses that affect mood, hormones, and healing.
This is not wellness theatre. It is chemistry — ancient, proven, and extraordinarily effective when the oils are pure.
